Myofunctional Therapy

What is Myofunctional Therapy

Myofuntional Therapy is an exercise treatment modality just like physical therapy, but only for symptoms and conditions related to the face, mouth, and jaws. Patients may be in need of Myofunctional Therapy if: the tongue is resting low in your mouth, tongue thrusts forward when you swallow, or if they breathe solely through your mouth. People who suffer from improper tongue posture may also suffer from the following symptoms: Anxiety, sleepless nights, sleep apnea, acid reflux, neck tension, bruxism, to list a few. These are strong indicators that they would benefit from Myofunctional Therapy.

Myofunctional Therapy helps you achieve four goals: Nasal breathing, correct swallow pattern, proper lip seal, and correct tongue posture.
